“But we have this treasure in jars of clay…”
[2 Corinthians 4:7 NIV]
What a contrast! Treasures, in jars of clay. We guard treasures and keep it in special places – definitely not in jars of clay. But Paul reminds us that God chose to deposit the treasure (which is the light of the knowledge of God’s glory) into jars of clay (we who are the children of God). Why did God do that? To show that the all-surpassing power (treasure) is from God alone. There is nothing we can boast about our accomplishments. Let us be reminded today that we are dependent on God’s power to do everything that God has called us to do.
